Matryoshka Collection: #2 Flora

Thursday, October 4

Even though there's only three of her, this is probably one of my favorite sets.  I just love it because of it's traditional style, the headscarf and floral motif. Very different from Miss Kitty. Each doll has a different kind of flower on her belly, contrasted against the loveliest shade of turquoise. It's also special to me because it was a gift from my mom of course.

Well I'm going to get back to grading papers, I'm ecstatic that tomorrow is Friday. Have a wonderful weekend!!!

DIY Ideas for Fall

9

Sunday, September 30

It's about time I get off my butt and do some crafting. It's been long enough. I've recently discovered that I have a pretty sweet craft store in walking distance from me, so there's definitely no excuses. What better way to get my creative juices flowing than brainstorming via Pinterest? Here's some of my favorite diy projects for this Fall, hope you're inspired!
//1// A pretty floral wreath for Fall from ABM.
//2// Adorable kitty pillow using photo transfer onto fabric.
//3// There's a new plastic bag ban here in Pasadena, so these produce bags made from old tee shirts make perfect sense.
//4// Great tutorial on how to make a totally cute tribal blanket clutch.
//5// Rustic shelf made from planks of wood and leather belts.

Football Kickoff Recipe: Bacon Wrapped Tots

19

Friday, September 7

I'm warning you now, this is not a low calorie snack. However, they are absolutely delicious, so who cares right? And they're a perfect recipe for football season! This is a pretty simple recipe, it combines two of the best foods in the world: bacon and potatoes. I got the idea from a teacher at my school, and I can't believe I never thought of it before. Here's what you'll need...

1) Let the tots defrost enough so that you can get a toothpick through, about 15 minutes.
2) Count enough bacon strips for however many tots you'll be making. Each tot gets 1/2 strip. Cut the bacon in half.

3) Roll up each tot in the bacon, and secure with a toothpick.
4) Bake until bacon is crispy, about 20-25 minutes.

Carefully remove from the oven and enjoy! Chris and I loved them, so I'm thinking that these are going to definitely be a favorite during football season!
